LMU’s Google CSSI Extension Program

Loyola Marymount University’s Google Computer Science Summer Institute Extension Program is a three-week, on campus summer experience for first-year students studying computer science and related STEM fields hosted by the Frank R. Seaver College of Science and Engineering. Modeled after the classic CSSI Program run at Google sites, the Extension program is designed for groups underrepresented in computing (i.e., women, underrepresented minorities in STEM, and first-generation or low-income college students). When the program began in summer 2017, LMU was one of only four universities invited by Google to run an Extension program. Since then, the program has continued its partnership with Google, providing students with the technical skills, soft skills, confidence and more to help them thrive at the university and beyond.
