Seaver Summer Research

For students in the Frank R. Seaver College of Science and Engineering, research is integral to the development of the students, both as a scholar and as a developing individual. Participation in research closely mentored by faculty is oftentimes transformative, reinforcing students’ critical thinking and problem-solving skillset. Research prepares students to graduate from Loyola Marymount University with a competitive edge, primed for success. Seaver College’s conviction in the importance of research is so strong that the college created several funded opportunities for students to participate in mentored research projects during the summer. The summer months offer the ideal opportunity for students to immerse themselves in research and engage more deeply in the process of scientific discovery. These opportunities exist through the Seaver Summer Research Award Program and the Coastal Research Institute’s Summer Internship Program.
